4 Design rules
Rules are rules. Learn them to forget them. As Malcolm Gladwell explains in "Blink" the accumulation of hard knowledge creates the space for the unconscious to operate. If you consciously focus on the rules your design will be bad. But the "gut feeling" or "designer's eye" comes from actually having that knowledge and using it unconsciously. Happy designing :)
