Rich web applications and Flash

The secret weapon of rich web applications may in fact be Apollo - the upcoming development enviroment from Adobe: Apollo

If I understand how this works - Apollo has a really cool advantage over AJAX enginesm because Adobe can now use the uniquitous Flash player to distribute a runtime engine. This would let Adobe install a local engine on 95% of PCs, in a matter of months.

This “everywhere” integration - means it WILL succeed.

Interestingly Apollo is based on Webkit (also used in Apple Safari and Mac OS widgets)
